HEFA / SAF

HEFA and SAF plants, delivered as one project.

Renewable diesel and sustainable aviation fuel from waste fats and vegetable oils. IncBio delivers the complete plant — feedstock pre-treatment and refining — with Axens as process licensor.

Guarantees. The process guarantee for the refining section sits with the licensor. The plant guarantee sits with IncBio. One contractor is responsible for the plant working as a whole.

Feedstocks

Used cooking oil, animal fats (all categories), PFAD and POME, brown grease, crude and degummed vegetable oils. The pre-treatment section is designed around the actual feedstock slate — metals, phosphorus, chlorides and polyethylene are removed to the licensor's hydrotreater inlet specification.

Pre-treatment

IncBio-designed degumming, bleaching, neutralisation and drying trains, sized for the feedstock mix and its variability. Ultrasonic-assisted degumming and neutralisation are available where the feedstock justifies them. Feedstock pre-treatment →

Scale

SAF from waste fats becomes a viable project at roughly 35,000 t/yr of feedstock and above. Below that, we will usually recommend a biodiesel route.

How a project starts

A paid FEED is the first engineering step

Smaller pre-FEED studies are available where a developer needs an early go/no-go.
